In the interest of P.D.M. and K.E.M.

OUR VISION:

A reformed family court system where children's best interests are paramount, ensuring their safety, stability, and emotional health.

OUR STORY:

Founded by individuals who have witnessed firsthand the detrimental impacts of family court decisions on children, we strive to bring about meaningful change through advocacy, education, and support.

Hi, it's me! K. E. M.

Meet the founder: Katherine Elizabeth Mayo, aka: K. E.M.

Also, "Kadi".

Kadi is the child at the heart of the influential Texas appellate case, In the Interest of P.D.M. and K.E.M. @2003). Though just a child at the time, her voice- and her wishes- were central to a legal decision that continues to shape custody law in Texas today.

Raised in the aftermath of a complex custody battle, Kadi experienced firsthand the emotional and developmental impact that court decisions can have on a child. Her life was directly altered by the systemic failures of a family court system that too often overlooks the well-being of the children it is meant to protect.

Driven by her lived experience and legal legacy, Kadi founded IN RE: THE CHILDREN. She is a strong advocate for reform in family law, supporting children who have been harmed by flawed court processes, and empowering families with the resources and legal awareness they need to fight for justice they deserve.

Her mission is clear: protect children, reform the system, and make every child's voice TRULY heard.
